Workshops logoTrading Faces Give us A Break poster – a surreal comedy using caricature full face masks Introduction to mask theatre for adults and groups aged 13+
The half-day and one-day introduction workshops introduce physical theatre techniques which can be applied to all mask work. Body language, characterisation and audience awareness exercises prepare the participants for using the company’s full-face caricature masks in the second half of the workshop. In projects of two days and longer these skills can be developed, applying the techniques through improvising and devising short scenes.

Advanced mask theatre for adults and groups aged 16+
This workshop is suitable for people with an existing skills base in physical theatre, characterisation and performance. In this workshop participants will explore mask theatre skills in a range of different styles of mask. In a workshop of one day or more, the group will also learn complicité skills, timing skills, methods for clarifying objectives and developing a sense of play.

Half-mask theatre for adults and groups aged 16+
This workshop includes techniques that are essential for all mask work, working towards releasing the voice of the mask and performing in the company’s half masks. In a workshop of one day or more, the group will also explore the use of mantras, focus and developing a verbal sense of play through improvisation.
