Trading Faces has created a touring exhibition that explores masks in performance. The exhibition can be set up at an Arts Centre, theatre, museum or gallery to create a focus for a programme of participatory or performance work.

The exhibition can be adapted to fit into virtually any secure space.

The exhibition includes masks from Trading Faces extensive collection created for performances and workshops. The exhibits cover a wide range of styles and materials and include masked sculptures and an interactive mask display.

The range of masks includes character, caricature, naïve, neutral, commedia, animal, children's cardboard masks and displays of methods and materials for making masks. Masks from other cultures complement the exhibition.

“The exhibition was fascinating and gave a history of masks as well as a broad range of the masks they have made for their own shows, so it was perfect for all of the school and college drama courses which have a mask work element, as well as for our normal audience who appreciate fine craftsmanship." Olivia Thornton
West Ox Arts Administrator
