Trading Faces Mask Commissions
Specialist masks for vibrant visual theatre
Trading Faces - the mask theatre specialists - have 18 years experience of making a wide variety of styles of mask. As well as making masks for Trading Faces’ productions and workshops, Tony Davies artistic director also makes masks on a commission basis for other theatre companies, youth theatre groups and youth workers who need high quality masks for specific productions or workshops. All masks can be created to a given brief and are painted with an airbrush finish.
For a perfect, bespoke mask, a plaster cast of the actors faces can be made in advance of the design process to ensure a comfortable fit.
Price depends on the nature of the brief but the following gives a guideline:
Half or full face human mask £150
(For commedia, character, naïve)
Animal Masks/helmet masks £250

“ There are not many workshops we've had in our school who have given us as much "value" as Trading Faces! We have had them for two separate residencies both were utterly outstanding. We still have the excellent masks they made with our students and the masks come out every year for the scheme of work they did with us. We were left with a resource and something to show for the money we’d spent beyond the workshops themselves. You won’t regret buying them in.” Mark Wheeler Head of Drama, Oaklands Community School
“ The commission for the cast of masks for our production of Brechts The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui are a true work of art that raise the young actors performances to a quite incredible level.” Steve Eagles Director of Drama Alderbrook School and Arts College
